Omolola Coker (b. 1992) is a figurative and batik artist whose practice is shaped by her global experiences.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Japanese and Management, she spent a transformative year in Tokyo, Japan, immersing herself in the culture and cultivating a passion for intercultural understanding. After earning her Master’s degree from SOAS, University of London, her corporate career further honed her research-driven approach to art.

Her work has been featured in group exhibitions such as Garden Tales (2022) in London, and, since returning to Lagos, Nigeria, Moments in Monochrome (2023), Home: Origins of All Poems (2024), Adegbola Projects: End of Year Party (2024), The Best of Ife (2025), as well as her solo exhibition In Bloom (2025).

Omolola’s artistic practice continues to evolve, exploring themes of misplacement, rest, rebuilding, and home. Through the use of Nigerian batik (wax resist-dyeing) techniques, known as Adiré, she infuses her canvases with layered symbolism that bridges reality, heritage, and identity.
